I started teaching professionally in 2005 and have had the privilege of seeing many former students go on to further musical study and success. Old students of mine have studied at the prestigious Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford; several have studied music courses at East Riding College, Yorkshire Coast College and Hull College. Some are now guitar teachers themselves and some are performing in venues ranging from local theatres and pubs to festivals and prestigious venues. Many more are content to be able to play their favourite songs or create their own in their homes.
I tailor lessons to your individual requirements and will go at a pace that you are happy with.

I started playing guitar in 1971 and until 2024 performed live music in several bands, playing everything from pubs to festivals and also recording original songs. I have played both lead and bass guitar in various bands, covering just about every style of music. I no longer gig due to health reasons but I have bo problem teaching
If you just want to learn to play your favourite songs I am happy to do that - I will gently introduce the musical theory that you will need as we go along. If you want to improve your technique and increase your musical knowledge I will incorporate the Rockschool guitar or bass syllabus.
Lessons are taught in my studio. It is comfortable, air-conditioned and has internet access, which allows us to access any song you like immediately and also to use online study aids
